Why do bad things happen to good people?

This was the question for our community group discussion last night.  As we saw, it is a complex question with a complex answer, though it is a question that leads very directly into the gospel.  There are several ways to approach this question, but I don’t want to rehash our entire conversation.  Feel free to post your answer to this question or any questions or comments you had from last night’s discussion.
